This is because if it is indeed 36 pages long, there is no way it could qualify for the title of book. Booklet maybe? Or tract? But of course, if it is indeed 36 pages, one understands some of our overly patriotic papers' painfully earnest desire to further inflate the fragile ego of our Grand Fropessor even if it means calling an article a book. Thursday, November 03, 2011Halimatou Ceesay, reporter with The Point newspaper in Bakau has authored a book on the numerous achievements registered by the Gambian leader, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Yahya Jammeh, in national development.
The 36-page piece entitled ‘Jammeh, the warrior of great Gambia’, talks about the various reforms undertaken by President Jammeh in his quest to transform this country into the Silicon Valley; ranging from agriculture, education, health to the tourism sector.
Speaking to this reporter about the rational of the book, Ceesay asserted that she is a living witness tothe developments of President Jammeh; hence conviction to write the book, so as to expose this reality to the people.
She disclosed that the book took her seven months to write and that she would love to present it to President Jammeh. She is also appealing to institutions and samaritans to financially come to her aid so that she could launch it in the near future.
Biography
Halimatou Ceesay was born to Haddijatou Fatajo and Abdoulie Ceesay (Late) on the 1st of April 1990 in Banjul. She attended New Jeshwang Lower Basic School, Saint Therese Upper Basic School and St. Joseph Senior Secondary School respectively. She is talented in writing.
