Their egos can't accommodate the wishes of the people. It is also telling that Halifa would chide those on the outside for not coming to the ground to set up a party. Halifa must be departing from his clarion call that the "Masses are the Makers of History" or "the masses own their destiny". So, in Halifa's view, we have less rights because we are not on the ground. Also, we can only be heard if we agree with him. How is that different from Yaya denying us our franchise? The other thing is, what does it mean to call oneself a leader? If the citizens you wish to lead do not like the way things are handled, they will let you know loud and clear. Regarding the convention and its outcome, how can Halifa deny that it was not predestined? How is that a speculation? Hamat said to all and sundry that he MUST lead any alliance he joins and indeed he has vindicated himself by doing what he promised. Halifa and PDOIS heard Hamat loud and clear, and they set the stage to validate Hamat. They can list rules to wazoo, however, the outcome was determined before any rules were written. You noticed I never said that Mai, Henry, or Sidia would be selected - I loudly said Hamat. In fact, I was engaged by a lieutenant here and I asked him to put his money where his mouth was - that Hamat was indeed going to be the Flagbearer. Where is the need to speculate when Hamat gave us all the information we needed? If Hamat can break from the UDP because of it, what makes anyone including Halifa not see that Hamat will not do it for PDOIS or GPDP? This was crystal clear. Yes, like most things, where PDOIS bit they wil bite to death and insignificant Joe here cannot do anything about it. What I can do that not even PDOIS can stop is to call the stink by its smell. Leaders in the opposition need to understand very clear that the citizens will challenge their assumptions and opinions where ever the people see fit. This is becoming more evident that it is one man, that is insisting he is right and at all times, regardless of the mass voice. We have a problem of two obstacles - Ousainou who insisted on leading and nothing else and Halifa who insisted on managing the show to his liking - Convention. The sad thing here is each managed to stick to their guns with their egos and the citizens are left to hold the bucket. Clearly, this is not about the wishes of the people, but all about them two and it is about time we recognize that. Very disappointing, but this is the last time we would be treated with contempt by any party or its leader.
