OPPOSITION LEADER WARNS GAMBIA’S SECURITY FORCES AHEAD OF ELECTIONS!

Speaking at a weekend political rally, barely one day after the Presidential nomination opposition leader Ousainanou Darboe urges the country’s security forces to desist from party politics in the build up to the November polls. Thousands United Democratic Party supporters thronged the rally venue which was held in Sida Club in Latrikunda German.  The meeting was organized by UDP’S National Female Wing in support of their leader’s fourth term bid to unseat dictator Yahya Jammeh’s Government.

A confident looking Lawyer Darboe, who was applauded by a cheering crowd appealed to members of the security forces to refrain from meddling into active politics.  The opposition leader noted that the Presidential race is between the opposition, and incumbent President Yahya Jammeh. And as such Darboe said he expects high degree of impartiality among our men, and women in uniform.  He advises  Gambia’s security forces to be professional, and live up to their constitutional mandate—that’s to protect lives and properties irrespective of who is affected.

Publicly warning President Jammeh, and his ruling APRC, the UDP leader said his party will no longer tolerate nonsense from Jammeh’s supporters. He says in as much as the UDP cherishes peace, and stability, the party will sit by allowing Jammeh rogue supporters trampling with their rights. He says the UDP has zero tolerance for harassment in the coming polls, and thus warns the APRC, and members of the security forces to respect the laws of the land.

“The Security Forces in the Gambia are our brothers, sisters, daughters, cousins, nephew, and nieces.  So we are one family with you as you are here to protect us,” said Mr. Darboe noting that 2111 is a year of political transformation in The Gambia.  Mr. Darboe said Gambians are determined to take their country back from monster Jammeh, and nothing can stop such a change of political leadership.

Lamin Dibba, Syngle Nyasi, Dembo By Force Bojang, Aja Yamundow Yarbo, Fatou Janneh, Alhagie Bubu, Fatoumatta Jawara and others at the rally all spoke for the need to  end the  dictatorship in the Gambia. They  called on Gambians—most importantly women, and youths to vote massively for the UDP in order to effect a genuine change of the current corrupt Jammeh status quo.
