Lawyer Ousainu Numukunda Darboe the outstanding leader and parent, my
uncle
by Mariama bah, Gaithersburg, MD

Mariama Darboe-Janneh has said it all, Papa Ousainu Darboe is indeed the best father, uncle, grandfather, husband,
and brother any person could ever hope for.  His house is a place many can call home. The greatest moment in my life
was living in his house. I grew up loving him like my father; in fact he was my father.
Growing up in his house made me value family and love everyone equally. I remember we use to look forward to him
coming home from work because he always brought something for us and to play basket or football with us; it was daily
routine that we all expected every day.

As an African father we were so close and fun of him which is very rear. Taking care of one teenager is tough enough
for any parent, not to talk of handling eight to night teenagers it was a marathon that he did not only earn a gold medal
for but did the best in bringing us up.

I cannot say we are all successful but the majority of us are prosperous and the rest are on the part of being what we he
wanted us to be. He is a man I grew up to love and like a father, uncle, grandfather and friend.
Papa Ousainu is a mentor, role model and virtuous leader. He is strong, courageous, trustworthy, determined, and
considerate like Mariama Darboe Janneh Said. The function of a leader is to produce more leaders, not more followers.
Which in his list of preference is his number one goal because; in his view we are all leaders in one way or the other. He
shares his riches with every one and brings out the best in people. He marches in such a way that all those who wish
may fellow.

A man of faith and a person who have faith in himself is always faithful to others.  Writing or talking about Ousainu
Numukunda Darboe can take me forever. With him, doing well for people is not something he does occasionally; it is
part of his daily routine of life. He has a heart of Gold. He is exactly what Gambians need.
I will forever be grateful to you Papa Ousainu (Baba) for all that you have done for me. We love you and will always
stand by you. Wish you all the best in this presidential election.
