Dear Haruna,
I’m a lucky guy. I have a great job where I get to work every day to
make things better for folks in Minnesota. I have incredible supporters
like you who stand with me in the face of big challenges. And I have a
beautiful family that, this year, grew by one more when my daughter
Thomasin got married.
As the Frankens gather this holiday season, I can’t help but think
about the troops serving around the world – and the families whose
holiday celebrations aren’t quite complete this year because a
servicemember isn’t there. Before I was a Senator, I went on USO tours,
visiting those troops overseas during the holidays. I know we all have
them and their families in our thoughts this year.
And I know that many Americans aren’t feeling so lucky this year. It’s
really tough out there for working people. And while the holidays are a
time for appreciating what we have, it’s also a time to re-commit
ourselves to standing up for those who don’t have much.
I want to thank you for being part of our extended campaign family this
year, and for sharing our fight to make things better for Minnesota
families. And I hope you and yours enjoy a wonderful holiday and a very
happy New Year.
Thanks,
Al
P.S.: Usually, in the P.S., I ask for money. And I’m going to do so
again here. But this time, it’s not for me – it’s for the USO. They do
amazing work, and if you want to do something for the troops this
holiday season,
please click here to make a donation to the USO.
