Friend,
I've never run
for office before, and I had no idea what to expect from a "money bomb."
Now I understand that this can make a big difference for our campaign.
Our "money bomb" is set for January 19th
-- the anniversary of the Senate race that sent Scott Brown to
Washington. He plans to use the date as a celebration and a chance to
make a formal announcement for re-election. I want to use it to make
clear the grassroots strength of our campaign -- and to raise as much
money as possible from grassroots supporters.
Since we launched this idea on Friday, grassroots supporters just
like you already have pledged to contribute more than $150,000 on January 19th -- and we're just getting started.
We are working hard to catch up to Scott Brown's enormous campaign
war chest, which is twice the size of what we have in the bank. We also
want to show everyone what people across the Commonwealth and around the
country can accomplish together.
It will be a strong signal to Karl Rove, the Chamber of Commerce, and
the Wall Street lobbyists that we're not going to back off and let them
take anything for granted.
On the two year anniversary of the Senate race that sent one of Wall Street's
favorite senators to Washington, let's show that we're going to be the
ones who step up with the huge grassroots support it's going to take to
win this race.
Thank you for being a part of this,
Elizabeth Warren
