Dear Haruna,
This Tuesday, President Obama delivered the State of the Union speech.
Did you see Al watching from the chamber? I caught a couple glimpses of
him sitting next to Bernie Sanders.
Anyway, Al and I both thought it was a great speech – and with a big
year ahead of us, I think it’s fair to say that the State of the
Frankens is: EXCITED!
We’re excited about the chance to get good things done in 2012 – from
creating jobs and rebuilding our manufacturing sector to making college
more affordable and repairing our infrastructure. We’re excited about
all the great progressives running for office all around the country.
And we’re REALLY excited about having you fighting alongside us.
I spend a lot of time going around the state. And everywhere I go, I
love hearing from Minnesotans. They tell me about how the work Al’s
doing in Washington is helping families and businesses. They ask me to
give him messages about ideas they support or oppose. And many of them
tell me to tell him to “KEEP FIGHTING!” And they ask how they can help.
Well, Al’s going to keep fighting. But if you want to help, there’s no
better way than by making a small contribution – even $10 or $20 – to
build our organization so Al can get more done.
I hope your 2012 is off to an exciting start, too. I’ll try to write
more this year – and I hope I get to see many of you out and about soon!
Thanks!
Franni
P.S.: Al told me I should put a P.S. in here to ask for your support
one more time. I don’t really get why that’s supposed to make any
difference, but he’s pretty convinced. “It’s a good way to add one more
‘ask,’” he kept saying. Whatever you say, honey:
