Hernando Darbo: Here's a Chance in a Lifetime
You will likely have only one chance to view this
spectacle—the transit of Venus across the face of the sun. Starting Tuesday
afternoon from the western hemisphere (and Wednesday morning from the eastern
hemisphere), the planet will appear as a black dot gliding across the solar
disk. The journey will last 6 hours and 40 minutes. And it won’t happen again
until 2117.
