Mawdo Cherno... Interesting times indeed in Gambia. Unprecedented history is being made and in the making every single day!

I wonder which 'know - nothing' marabout forewarned of a possible backlast on a Gunjur Ziyareh and how many bulls have been buried to safe the day! Heh! now you need state clearance to hold a religious gathering???? wow..

The truth shall prevail as it has always done!!!!!

Happy belated Fathers' Day..

The office of the president would do well to explain why no Ziyareh is allowed in Gunjur. Are we to believe recent stories that the president now monopolizes the Gunjur prayer place where many go in search of hope? Or is he petrified that people go there to Ziyareh for his inevitable downfall? I think the president has stepped on toes he shouldn't have this time around. But as the saying goes, give a fool a long rope . . .

Thanks for sharing Cherno.

The Office of the President has issued a press release, informing the general public that no Ziyareh is allowed to take place in  the  coastal village of Gunjur, any time soon or in the future.

The release reads:

Since matters relating to religious affairs fall under the purview of the Office of the President, the general public is hereby informed that no Ziyareh is allowed to take place in Gunjur, any time soon or in the future.

Any persons or group found contravening these instructions will face the full force of the law.
