Dear Haruna, This is big. MyCars, the American-made all-electric two-seater vehicles from Terry McAuliffe's Virginia-based GreenTech Automotive, are rolling off the production line -- and now they're on the market for U.S. consumers. This occasion is another important step in the right direction towards restoring American manufacturing. Terry bought the Chinese car company and moved it to America. With the help of then-Governor Haley Barbour, Terry launched the first MyCar manufacturing faciility in Mississippi, creating hundreds of jobs. It goes to show that creating jobs isn't a partisan issue; in fact, both Democratic President Bill Clinton and Republican Governor Haley Barbour were both on-hand for the big announcement. Now, Domino's Pizza has officially signed on to be the first buyer of the MyCar here in the U.S. As one local reporter put it, “the cars may be small, but their impact on the environment is big.” It also represents exactly the kind of innovation and ingenuity that we'll need to reduce our dependence on foreign oil, create good-paying manufacturing jobs, and compete in the global economy. Terry will be making the rounds to talk more about GreenTech Automotive’s latest developments. Tune in tomorrow to see Terry on MSNBC's Morning Joe at 6AM. He’ll be on CNN around 6PM and MSNBC's Ed Schultz's show at 8PM. I’ve also included links below to some great stories that shouldn’t be missed. Please take a moment to check out the articles below, and I'll be sure to keep you posted with more news as MyCars start hitting the streets.
