WHY SHOULD WE ENGAGE CIVILIZED METHODS WITH THE UNCIVILIZED TYRANT, JAMMEH

A CALL TO MARCH AND RALLY AGAINST JAMMEH’S TYRANNY!!!!

By Ousainou Mbenga

For some of us, 18 years of condemnation of Jammeh’s savage behavior left us no more tears to shed.

We have written volumes upon volumes exposing his calculated intentions to remain in power until the fate of tyrants like Mobotu, Abacha and countless others befall him. If this is not the time for Jammeh and his willfully ignorant AFPRC – APRC’S demise, then whatever insult or act of barbarism he inflicts on us again, we deserve it. If there is no decisive action taken against this savagery, then we should all shut UP and let him reign forever. Jammeh’s actions should be met with an organized maximum retaliation.

Anything outside of an organized structure will continue to entrench the foul social system of the neocolonial state. We must organize a mass base to increase our fighting capacity against this monster. It is always the masses that take to the streets to uproot tyrants like Jammeh while the predatory politicians wait in the wings to hijack the victories of the struggle. The problem has been that most of us want to by pass this important phase of building an organized base under a discipline leadership.

“Mbeegi Ngaam Borom Mako Feeyu” – We are the ones who have been slapped on the jaw, we should be the one to slap Jammeh back. All freedom loving people can support our cause but we must lead the struggle and give it direction to its logical conclusion – VICTORY!!

First, neither Senegal nor Amnesty International or any other international bodies are going to win our freedom for us from this neocolonial buffoon fronting as a “savior” for Gambia and an example for Africa. We were all witness to the admirable Senegal example when they got fed up with Abdoulaye Wade’s stupidity. They didn’t call on America, Amnesty, the impotent AU, or ECOWAS; they arose in their millions to fling Wade off their backs. This is our time to show the world that we in the Gambian front of the African revolution also have sensibilities for freedom and liberation from such numbskulls as Jammeh. Even if this act of barbarism was not acted upon, the mere utterance of this savage act either to intimidate or sow fear is abominable. There is no doubt that this monster could have executed all 47 prisoners in one day hiding behind “Islam”.

Secondly, I unite and salute the exemplary stance taken by Mai Fatty in the wake of this dastardly act by this pseudo – revolutionary named Yaya Jammeh. Brother Fatty without any reservations denounced the savage behavior and offered action oriented solutions. This is the moment for COOPERATION and not to engage in senseless competition against ourselves. Let us converge our efforts and deliver the lethal blow that Jammeh deserves.

The great Pa Dacosta is turning in his grave in protest against the beast-like behavior of the same Jammeh that gave orders to “shoot the bastards”, referring to the students on April 10 and 11 2000. Pa Dacosta heroically spoke on the radio in support of the gallant students and urged the women to “tie their waists” and avenge the death of their children since the men have become impotently scared of Jammeh. Pa Dacosta is no longer with us in person but his heroic spirit still lingers in our consciousness, so to honor this spirit, let us rise in our thousands and thousands to uproot the AFPRC – APRC and its henchman.

Finally, we must exercise a high degree of discipline in this process of protesting against this genocide and most importantly put an end to his plans to execute any more prisoners. Out of these protests, there must emerge a structure to sustain the momentum and organize the anger and rage that is evident in all of us and the friends of Gambia. Let us not engage in endless “talk – fest” to become mere “talking heads” devoid of organized action. We in Washington DC will struggle for discipline and an honest work ethics to foster COOPERATION. We are making a special call to our WOMEN and the youth to come out and play their vital role needed in building a PROUD – FUTURE SENEGAMBIA. SEE YOU ON TUESDAY.

                                                                         VICTORY IS CERTAIN!!
