It is great and welcome news for the families of these men. For the well being of the families I welcome them being reunited with their love ones in the Gambia or anywhere.

Let's make it absolutely clear to Jammeh that distance will not stop us from fighting and nothing will stop us from standing for freedom, justice and democracy for all Gambians...

We are more focus and resolute today and No we are not satisfied and will not be satisfied until all political prisoners are freed!! The fight has become more urgent and we are more motivated...

Yerro, I agree with your stance.  I however must make it very clear that I support the duo and appreciate everything they have done for the struggle to kick jammeh out of power.
With that said, I don’t think they should have taken jammeh’s bait to leave the country.  This guy wants anyone that challenges him out of the country or dead.  They should have stayed and keep pushing.
The fact remains that they were wrongly imprisoned and they should not just walk away after suffering for this long.
One of our biggest challenges in giving jammeh a tough fight is the lack of presence on the ground.  They are on the ground and have suffered so there should be no going back at this point.
If they strongly believe that what happened to them what is happening to the Gambia people is wrong they should stay and continue demanding freedom and justice.  This mean being ready to die.
Now I am not recommending for anyone of us pack up and go fight him right now, but I think it is fair to encourage those on the ground to stay and continue fighting.

While I hail this development if it is true not as a credit to Jammeh's failing administration, I still see this as a not acceptable deal. It must be noted clearly that we are Gambians first before anything else. It should be the choice of the two to leave the Gambia if they desire. If they want to stay, they must be accorded their God-given right -birth right.  We must refuse deals that have ulterior motives to them. I am wholly convinced that this Jammeh house is on the verge of collapse and he is playing us as fools and buying more time by giving us partial conditional deals. It is quite evident that Jammeh is not doing this at his will. He has been overcome by the will of the people.

Keep pushing guys and I can see the light shining on us as a nation.

Down, down, down Jammeh!!

I don't know how true this is and I have no independent way to confirm, but I have people on my twitter feed reporting that Dr. Janneh and Tamsir Jasseh will be released to Rev. Jesses Jackson and leave Banjul for the United States with him.¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤ To unsubscribe/subscribe or view archives of postings, go to the Gambia-L Web interface at: http://listserv.icors.org/archives/gambia-l.html To Search in the Gambia-L archives, go to: http://listserv.icors.org/SCRIPTS/WA-ICORS.EXE?S1=gambia-l To contact the List Management, please send an e-mail to: [log in to unmask] ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤
