I take it that you are frustrated with the interview without consent.
No worries and i look forward to more of your input. I only hope that the jammeh administration will realize the need to start being transparent about happenings. That would create less curiosity and go a long way to fix speculations.

Gentlemen, I can't even honestly say I understand your position though I respect your stance. Yes the Jammeh regime may not know what transparency means even if their life depends on it and they look it up in the webster dictionary. They clearly do not have conducive conditions set for free press in the Gambia, but that does not excuse or give reason for a journalist to call on false premise to obtain an interview. That interview was very distasteful to say the least. We can assume all we want that she would not have submit to it had she knew but she stated that she would have. This is a platform for the people that share interest about our nation to read and learn factual information that is objective and informative. We should refrain from using such tactics that will reduce us to their level. Why should Pa talk about her daughter being played with by men in America? Lets report facts and not gossips. Focus on building a medium for the diaspora free from personal attacks. Yes I know she mentioned that Jammeh paid for Pa's mother's Hajj but we are more advanced, more sophisticated and have a better understanding of reporting requirements or at least shout be. Like you, I also think Khaleel is entitled to his opinion or feel the way he does as a result of his personal view of things.
Upon reflection though, I think many things came out from this interview. Here is what Demba Ali Jawo said, "

I hope Khaleel considers the other side of the spectrum as well. Here is an administration that doesn't even have an information minister. The situation would have been a little different if this administration was transparent. Everyone knows they are not transparent and that is unfortunate.

Khaleel,I respectfully disagree with your take on the interview. Where all doors to the independent media are shut, where everyone who opposes government policies is branded as an enemy and unpatriotic, journalists and every conscious citizen who understand the difference between an individual person or political and a nation will do what is required to get public officials to speak.Instead of condemning the interview and the manner it was obtained why not look at the reasons that led to that manner of behavior. why do you think Journalists need to hide to speak with Public officials? Do you think they should recognize the diaspora media who currently have the largest audience on Gambian media?As a last word, you are free to come out and speak with the media yourself if you so desire. We should all be open to discuss matters of Gambian interest. I look forward to a positive response from you.

(BI just got the opportunity to listen to an interview Pa Nderry had with the Gambian VP. I must first say it disgusted me. It was very unprofessional, unethical and immoral. I am certain that it violates some serious journalism ethics. We have to rise above this kind of petty behavior, act maturely, be honest and sincere if we are serious about change.
