Kejau, I agree with you, "the more the merrier". However, that is not the issue here. The issue is the merrier is compounding our problems as each is drawing a turf and it becomes a turf battle. Now, try bringing these continuous mushrooming of groups staking their claims and you see that you will have more problems than encountered with six political parties holding us hostage. We have seen these situations in Africa where we see 150 candidates running for President, etc. and it does nothing but help the criminal. Again, they cannot come together because those calling to come together are asking others to "Come Join Them". If all of them meant to come together, they would have done so a long time ago. The calls are not getting a response because of what they are calling for. Ndam Demul, Ndam Dekul. Yes, no one has a monopoly on our affairs, including you and I. I think we are better served having a "Unity of Purpose", than a "Race to the Front", which is what obtains and is quite obvious even to the blind. The only thing I will agree to disagree with you is that as a Gambian, I have a right to criticize anyone regarding matters Gambia, and my fellow citizens including yourself are accorded the same. That comes with citizenship and in line with the freedoms you articulated above. Finally, anything I write here is not for any organization or party and I have issued that disclaimer a zillion times before. I am a member of the STGDP and GPU-USA and at no time do you see me speak for them. They have their officers who speak for them and I think most of the readership know I take ownership of what I write here. At times, just like your independent self, they also have issues with what I say here, but they also know I do not speak for them. To: [log in to unmask] Guys, I think the more the merrier, as it is with the proliferation of media houses and businesses, in case some think they have the monopoly and or are not doing a good job. After all if the others are working well then we will not still be saying the same things year after year. It is a freedom of association after all and no one has any right to condemn others for organising or joining existing or new organisations. The last time I checked there are no limits to the number of political parties that can register and this was a contentious issue when the parties were uniting to fight the election as one.
