Kejau, we should not make the mistake of giving any credit to Dr. Janneh for his part in coaxing the media community to register with the Media Commisson by extending the registeration period. All those attempts were tricks in trying to get the media into accepting the Commission as it was thereby signing their own dead warrants. The media figured out things for themselves and whatever Dr.Janneh or anyone else did the core members of the media that mattered with the exception of the DO were not going to register with the Commission as it was.
So, no credit to Janneh here. There was even media blackout on the day registeration was due hence they had no option but to repeal the Act and then come with other new measures like the Newspaper amendment act that Prince talked about.
My message to Prince is keep them coming. I am eagerly awaiting for your next installment to help the lazy ones like my self to remember.
Musa Jeng! no, some of us small kids with crash high school certificates did things in the open right in the Gambia that the Doctor did not do.

Demba and others have a point to some extend that Dr. Janneh came into the cabinet after the media bill and although he dined and wined with the dictator during serious atrocities being committed against our people such as during the brutal assassination of Deyda Hydara and the arson and brutal attack on the Independence, he is said to have played vital roles in fighting the dictatorial rule such as extending the time frame for media houses to register under the harsh media laws and tabling the bill for the repealing of that same media laws which resulted in his sacking. The concern of many here however is his acceptance of the cabinet position in the first place after criticizing those who did before he himself accepted the position. In effect, his integrity is very questionable and the fact that he never tendered any resignation until he was fired leave much to be desired. Folks have a right to be critical. The tendencies to put everyone who ever
worked for the government in capacities that are not part of the executive,  under the same criticism is however unfair.
