Breaking News!!!!

Sheer madness!

Amie Bensouda arrested and is now under detention at
the serious crimes unit at Banjul Police Headquaters,
incommunicado.

        Dear Fatou,

By way of update, around 12am that she was being transferred to Banjul
Police Headquarters, Serious Crimes Unit. She was there
overnight.

Family members saw her at a distance around 6am at She is in good
spirits

We think this involves a World Bank project she is working on called the
LGAF project (Land Governance Assessment Framework). It has involved her
sending letters and meeting various public officials including local
authorities. It is a non-contentious matter and strictly limited to Land
matters. It is the only contact she has had with Government that is worth
noting.

We will keep you informed as things develop.

A few minutes ago we received an update that the police have instructions
to keep her incommunicado 'among other things'.

Amie Bensouda was leader of a four defense lawyer team for Dr Isatou
Touray, executive director and Amie Bojang Sissoho, programme coordinator
of GAMCOTRAP accused of stealing €30, 000.00 provided to them by
YALOCAMBA SOLIDARIDAD, a Spain-based NGO.(Isatou and Amie have been
acquitted)
