Karim,

I advise caution and temperance. The JDAM I know will never censor anyone in any public forum and I can wager my friendship with him on it. Unless of course your message is unduly burdened with odious speech. And that I place you above.

Indeed I have received similar messages from time to time only to find out later JDAM is not even aware of his role as moderator. Messages are generally forwarded to any of the moderators (I don't know who they are) when certain keywords or delimiting words are found within the message. They are not actively sequestered by such moderators. And if the moderator is not aware of the assignment, the message can sit in his/her mailbox for a century, which you and I may perceive as permanent censorship.

I think the moderators should build into the alert a mechanism that will bounce the assignment to another moderator after several hours of inaction and when it makes its rounds with all moderators, it should automatically be allowed through if there's still no action.

Otherwise, I will be terribly disappointed if moderators' bias is accommodated unchecked.

I encourage you Karim to give the process some time. I also encourage our moderators to be proactive in this regard.

Haruna.

Subject: [G_L] Message to Gambia-L Management

Dear all
It is about time for Gambia-l management to stop target censorship. I cannot image Lamin J Darboe restrict control of my posting using his power as a list manager. Lamin is making himself important and his objective censorship. Gambia- is a democratic forum but it is useless and becoming a forum for people building their prestige and power and if you disagree with their bullshit self imaging they restrict you posting.
