I guess Laye had always been higher on the cousin totem pole than me. Don't call me cousin. Putting Laye ahead of Yero and Myself. The end of the world as we know it must be nigh!

Haruna. I have the good sense not to wish you and your a happy and successful New Year.

Yero,

I think one needs to understand as ousman said these forums are not more as live events.. No one is sitting and reading every email to validate its content.. Forum admins only intervene if there is an issue..

So it doesn't make sense for anyone to think they are being censored.. That term is being loosely use with understanding.. I certainly don't believe LJD will ever censor someone here..

Thanks

Yero,
I am addressing the issue at hand. The notion that someone on the G-L is censoring Karim and by your insinuation yourself is absurd. I could care less what you are debating with Kejau much more to censure your postings in the said debate. The same goes for Laye and magistrate Darbo.
You went on to say that Karim has a point and the way you postulated that, you have some sympathy to his assertion. Do you seriously believe Mr. Darbo is censoring Karim? If don't , what is the point he has that you are lending credence to?
I don't know whether to laugh or cry at your definition of a feedback. If you think Karim's outburst is a constructive way of feedback ,then it is safe to say, that, I am wasting my time in this exchange.
Ousman.

Ousman,

These are scary tendencies. In fact part of the reasons why others with concerns will be quiet.

The best that you can do is to explain especially after a glitch. I believe that Karim does have a point.

Please don't beat down too hard on simple feedback. We are all adults and such hard beating down with due respect is un-called for.

Thanks & best,

Karim's blanket accussation is absurd. Nobody is getting their postings monitored on the Gambia-L. I should know... i am part of the management. if your postings are not getting through to the forum, the level headed approach is to figure out why and not to lob accussations at people who might not be aware there is a glitch in the system. There are only three people on Gambia-L management, Laye, myself and magistrate Darbo. We have careers like the rest of you. We don't sit around monitoring this forum. Karim would be best serve to talk to Mr. Darbo before insinuating malice. Anyone, remotely aware of how systems work, will understand that glitches are why you have administrators, be they systems, network, database, you name it. So the next time you feel like throwing a censorship bomb at someone, take into account the intricacies of the system you are dealing with and contact someone on the management team accordingly.

regards,
Ousman.

Yero,

I am a bit disappointed in you for not registering your complaint when you perceive aversion. Remember the saying that goes som'n like: For evil to succeed, good people must remain quiet.... or other? Whether you think it is the process or not, at the very least, speaking up has a way of enhancing process or improving customer service - depending on the complaint. We must never be quiet about perceived aversion.

This is not to say there was a deliberate effort to offend you or me or Karim, but that an error or inefficiency has occured that needs correction or explanation. In view of "WHen they came for the Jews, Muslims, Catholics, Mandingos, Fullahs, Methodists, ......", it will behoove us to remain quiet when we sense aversion. Speaking up is bearing on the side of caution. How you speak up is priceless.

Haruna.

Karim,

Thanks for sharing your concerns. I hate to think LJD in his caliber as a champion of voice will censor you or anyone here.

On a note, I too will take this opportunity to register concerns I had few weeks ago. During a debate with Kejau, some of my posting didn't show up and others were delayed more than the posting time period. Normally, I don't like to be the one to complain and I let certain things resolve themselves. Sometimes, I am reminded that these systems are not perfect....but what a coincidence then.

It certainly doesn't tell well. Again, this is just simple feedback. It is time to engage or inform people on things that affect their postings.

Once again, thanks for sharing.

Best of 2013,
Yero

Dear all
It is about time for Gambia-l management to stop target censorship. I cannot image Lamin J Darboe restrict control of my posting using his power as a list manager. Lamin is making himself important and his objective censorship. Gambia- is a democratic forum but it is useless and becoming a forum for people building their prestige and power and if you disagree with their bullshit self imaging they restrict you posting.
