Yes indeed Mboge, "undercover to destabilise the Jammeh regime". Absolutely fanciful!

As for the actual nature of the system, we know as much as the Ministers, may be more. Both Scattred Janneh, and Sedat Jobe, actually admitted in interviews that major decisions affecting their departments were taken without prior consultation. No surprise here for those familiar with the "shadow state" syndrome.

And for those with no idea of how the "shadow state" operates, the confessions of Bai Lowe provided its fundamental dynamics. Except for Ministers directly involved, as alleged in some cases, even Cabinet-level operatives are unaware of the details of the criminality that ostensibly derives its 'authority' from the police power of the state. State vehicles, state weapons, state paid personnel!

But even if the details are not known to many, the existence of vast subterranean criminality is well known in the country. Witness the Professor's EU Cabinet-monologue and the fear palpably discernible n the faces of Ministers unfortunate to be sitting on that lecture. Nana Grey Johnson is well aware of this, and like Suntou, I do not think he has the guts to ruffle feathers, to enter the lion's den, if you like, and speak reason to power. He
disappoints greatly!

As for OKo, well, even the one man cultural institution he is cannot launder the now-battered image and questionable integrity of Nana Grey Johnson. Indeed, Oko should know that even the combined antecedents of the "no ordinary" Nana Grey Johnson, and himself, means anything when weighed against the critically vital struggle against lawlessness in The Gambia.

What can anyone contribute in a climate with such irredeemable features? Oh Gambia, land of the intellectual prostitute, and certificated buffoon!

Thanks Saiks and LJD.
However, who knows, Grey-Johnson may be undercover to destabilise the Jammeh regime.  Remember the mission of our revered Doctor who we were told is Gambia's Mandela.  Nana Grey Johnson is just another 'Saahee Laaka Laaka' and 'intellectual prostitute' looking for some cash. I hope when he is kicked out and ends up in some group opposing President Jammeh, people will not try to insult our intelligence about some 'insider knowledge' Grey-Johnson may have which can be of some value to the opposition.

Like Seedy Sanneh, Dr Amadou Scattred Janneh, Dr Sedat Jobe, Mamburay Njie, and numerous others, no one questions Nana Grey Johnson's educational credentials. We are simply saying his conduct is immoral, and that Professor Jammeh has no real use for whatever talent he may have. Time will tell!
