So far the names you mentioned in the steering committee aka hard chargers;)with the exception of Ousman Ceesay whom I do not know that well. However, I am very confident the names, you mentioned they will get the ball rolling.I hope Daffeh graciously accept your apology and explanation. I will be in the Midwest over the weekend I intend to engage folks, more so to have a dialogue on a way forward. Thank you.

Sariang,

Excellent observation and a wise counsel. Absolutely, the time has come for us all to bridge those differences in between us. Everyone here is aware of my past differences with Daffeh on substance and approach, but there is one thing am absolutely convince about is our equal commitment to see change in Gambia in the most genuine of manners. He is equally a practical person who puts his money on what he is most passionate about..

I think the way we bring everybody on board is through our networks and personal connections.. If I know 30 people that I can trust and work with who I can convince to support this cause, and you know 60 people and Daffeh knows 70 people, Kejau 80 and Pa Samba Jow 100 people, who we can convince to join us, then we are well underway to creating a solid foundation for collective action.

I am convince beyond any doubt that we have the best and the brightest to bring the change we need. We have the most sophisticated and well connected generation Gambia has ever seen. It is a matter of having the courage and conviction to make it happen. Many of our brothers and sisters have tried for the past several years and made progress that we just need to build on with new ideas and approaches.

Thanks again and let's go to work my comrade... Let's get that MBA of yours to work Sir!! Look forward to your creative project approach newly acquired.

Regards

Demba

I will caution everyone not to be carried away by our initial responses online when this idea first came up. There are folks who will continue to contribute and remain anonymous, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Further I will remind folks to deeply reflect on lessons learned based on similar projects in the past. It is a matter of fairness, principle and transparency to invite as many people as possible even folks we tend to disagree with. This in itself will send a clear message to everyone this time will be different. This will be a renewed type of leadership based on collective engagement on a way forward. Overall this is a great start, but our challenges remain intact (our ability to mobilize a greater majority). I hope and pray folks will join, despite our individual differences.

Finally,I fully understand the project is in its infant stage, but starting on the right footing is equally important. I applaud you all for your commitment on a path forward. Thank you.

Daffeh,

My apology if I come across in a different tone... I meant to treat your questions with utmost legitimacy and respect as you can sense in most of my response. I may have actually sent the email to the wrong Daffeh. I thought [log in to unmask] was your private email.

Anyway, my apology again for missing that. I actually took notice of your interest from the get go thus the reason for seeking your personal involvement as a legal person. I know you had express reservation on which courts we can engage on such cases, but I think that can be iron out along the way and once we get good support with resources to move forward.

I shall count on you and everybody to make this a reality. Let's hear from more people on how we want to move forward. Pledging financial support is the first commitment to getting involved in the process.

I look forward to working with you and everybody in making this happen.

Kind regards

Demba

Demba,

I am not aware of your invitation for myself to be in charge of the funds-maybe I missed that one. Also and to put the records straight, I was among the first people who expressed interest in this initiative albeit with a caveat. I, therefore, don't know what necessitated your 'if you are not interested' statement. My questions are legitimate and I expect them to be treated as such.

Now that you have provided answers, which is great, your focus should be about how to give shape to the project rather than ramping up the tone on someone who dired to ask.

Thanks for the answers anyway; and let's move on.

Daffeh

Again, it is an idea to put resources together to help defend all and any Gambian who meets the criteria against arbitrary arrest, detention and disappearance without trace. Off course there are tons of questions but it is an opportunity for us to steer this forward with sacrifice and dedication together. Those who are willing to take our struggle to the next level should be willing to put their resources and time where we think it matters the most...
