Given what happened to Pa Sallah Jeng, I think we all need to give our support to the Mayor-elect Bah in whatever way we can to ensure that he is successful in his tenure. It is very encouraging for the entire country that the people of Banjul have chosen somebody as Mayor who does not stand on an APRc ticket.

Owens, you need to link Mayor Bah with the Diaspora so that we can begin work with him for a better Banjul, the capital city of our country.

Thanks
Daffeh

There in lies the terror that some of these group mates in the person of Lie Bah knows about and choose to ignore. As far as I can see, there is some opportunity seeking involved in this. To my understanding, this man is not independent in his mind, only to the ticket which is seeing him to power. What happened to even an attempt to resign from the party before going as independent? To whether he will change for the better, that is a whole chapter, and hopefully we will all be here as history judges.

Some of the things (political toad metamorphosis) add to my confusion greatly, and for God's sake, my opinion is too little  to matter anyway, but I am not giving any of these political opportnists blank checks. Not when in their hearts, they are still with this bad guy, knowingly fully well all that is happening in town, some of them even their family members and first day neighbors.

He only defaulted to Independent ticket because his APRC party found more value in Samba Faal due to the rotten system of selection of public officials in place. Now, the question is: isn't some of these people more dangerous than those being paraded as 'turncoats' in these forums?

We have to understand that, the Councillors and mayoral elections are a different kettle of fish to the one Jammeh has everything to lose about.

The general situation is hard and stressful for many. The catalyst against Jammeh will come from, food, food, food. Not his arrest of Imam Baba Leigh and killings. This is the sad reality. The self-contain life style is too engrossed in our society. Thanks Sanusi for the alert.

While I agree with the masses that a peaceful change of power is possible, I bet to differ seriously, because under the given conditions, a defeat of Jammeh can only come if he dies, overthrown, or through an aggression that forces him to leave. The mechanism for fair elections is not in place. Forget about the so-called IEC. Not to mention of media coverage especially from the only TV, Jammeh's own GRTS.

He fought tooth and nail with a system much more powerful than he was able to fight back. He ran out of amory and had to leave for exile. I met him couple of years ago in Atlanta where he delievred a very powerful speech. He likened J
