Dear compatriots and friends of The Gambia: Once again, on behalf of the combattants of April 10th/11th 2000, I hereby thank you all for rising to the occasion and remembering the deaths of those true heros: our comrades who lost their lives in the struggle for justice in The Gambia thirteen years ago. It is pertinent to note that April 10th/11th 2000, as an event is bigger than anyone of us, yet the main issue behind it, touches us all. It is therefore a national heritage of tremendous significance, which by far beyond the expectations of any of us, occupies a pivotal position in the history
 of the struggle for justice in The Gambia. This event brings more Gambians outside partisan formations to the frontline against  The Jammeh dictatorship than anyother in our political calendar. The more we use it as a rallying point against the regime, the better for our struggle, as it generates passion!
Furthermore, I wish to remind you all that there are amongst us victims who had injuries inflicted on them by members of The Gambia's security forces in executing an " order to kill" given to them by President Yaya Jammeh. It is obviously incumbent upon those of us who took part in planning or implementing the manifestations and are in a position to help, to come forward and do so. We extend the same invitation to the rest of our combattants, members, compatriots and friends of The Gambia. We will very soon put in place the  mechanism through which you can make your contributions or donations.
Finally, we thank you all for a bigger than usual commemoration, and look forward to an even bigger one next year!
