I will share some ideas with you Kejau and see if you got it right. Don't worry too much about the architects, PDOIS, uncle BB, or the London people.

Cherno,
How do you feel, they got it wrong?] Kejau.

Got what wrong?

[Do you also think the architects of such gatherings also got it wrong?] Kejau.

Got what wrong?

[Also the London gathering, that seen to kick start all these, got it wrong?] Kejau.

Kick start what? Got what wrong?

[Also uncle BB Dabo also got it wrong?] Kejau.

Got what wrong?

This is why I say forget about what someone else got wrong or right. Let's work on Kejau first. I'm sure you have your own mind. I think. It wouldn't matter if Cous Fakoo Fakoo tells you what someone got wrong or right. It would be better if you share with Cous what Kejau thinks is wrong or right and possibly why you think so. This is because you and Cous are here, can speak with each other, debate each other on merit or demerit of a certain idea. The London people, uncle BB, the Raleigh people. They are not here. SO lets unite our thoughts here first before we bring others across continents in cyberspace to forge a way forward. (:

Now then:

[Wouldn't it be better if we unite first with a single voice and decision] Kejau.

I knew you were having problems with this part. So I'll see if I can help. I understand you to be speaking about the DIASPORA here. Yes it would be better if WE unite first with a single voice and decision.
Now imagine that you and I agree on this point without reservation, so we the Diaspora begin to unite first. So we organize a congress in say Oslo (By the way I think you had uncle Sidia in Oslo recently), or Stokohlm, or DC, or Atlanta, or London, or Warsaw, or Cairo, or Brussels, or Dakar, or Accra........ I think you get my drift. Where and how are you gonna get the DIASPORA to do the uniting? And what is the appropriate number of DIASPORA you think is adequate for this union?????????????????????? Is it those who can afford a ticket to timbuktoo, or Darsilameh, or Bwiam? Or are you suggesting the DIASPORA unite on cyberspace??? If so, you will still have to consider "The Adequate number and quality of DIASPORA" that will make you satisfied that YES, we have now united. Remember we have been contemplating union of the DIASPORA for 17 years now. I just don't want you to think we just started with the Raleigh Congress. I don't know if you now are beginning to see the clueless nature of your suggestion but I will continue with the rest of your commentary. I will try to write slowly. Keep at the back of your mind that the Raleigh Congress invited BOTH DIASPORA and HOME OPPOSITION.

[and then invite the opposition to debate the proposals] Kejau.

So you are suggesting the DIASPORA not only unite on one "VOICE", But on a ROAD MAP PROPOSAL for what the united DIASPORA and the soon-to-be UNITED HOME OPPOSITION should follow to remove Yahya. Of course we are hoping that Yahya is still folding his arms waiting for all this union and that he wouldn't want to murder some more prisoners to distract us, or abduct and disappear another Imam or Priest. You know we can easily distracted as Gambians right???

Now if we assume that Yahya is waiting hands-akimbo for us to do the DIASPORA unity and Proposal making first, do you see any need to passasse the HOME OPPOSITION across continents to review that DIASPORA proposal????? Of course we are assuming that the HOME OPPOSITION has already "united" in one voice (: and have formulated their united Proposal. Why would not simply mail/UPS/DHL your "united" DIASPORA proposal to the "united" HOME OPPOSITION so they can synthesize the two "Ways-Forward" proposals and save both the expense and heartache of ferrying good folk across continents?????????????????? OR DO YOU ACTUALLY TRUST THE SEPARATE DIASPORA and HOME OPPOSITION "UNITIES"?

After you have digested the above, LET me share with you that this rigamarole has actually been tried before. TWICE. Call and ask your friends what the two COALITION-MAKING efforts looked like. Both times, we thought there was HOME OPPOSITION unity and DIASPORA OPPOSITION unity and that we are just coming to the US to sign a synthesized "Way-Forward". Kejau I don't know what you have in your head and that is not significant now. Trust me on this and let's just stick with the present.

[rather than invite them to debate the way forward.] Kejau.

Since 2005, we have been doing this. If the DIASPORA and HOME Oppositions have "united" separately in both "voice" and "Way-forward proposals" Kejau, why would anyone in their right mind invite them to Debate when they should be bringing their synthesized "way-Forwards" and sign on the dotted line - Hopefully not to go back to their separate bunkers and renege on what they have signed????? And we all dance and make merry for our humungus accomplishments?????? Then when it comes time to implement the synthesized proposal, the DIASPORA implement it first, then invite the HOME to come debate on implementation, and at each step of the implementation, come here together to sign on the dotted line. WHile Yahya was waiting for us. BTW I just heard Yahya is implementing TRUTH TV. It doesn't look to me like Yahya is waiting for our cluelessness is he??

[Costly in terms of relationships and cost.] Kejau.

So uniting separately first and then coming across continents to debate some more would not be costly in terms of the already accrued separate unions and COST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you're not careful, with inflation and interest, you might be looking at quadrupled COST in both terms.

Halifa and sedia got this one wrong. In the same regard, they are still the finest politicians in the group.

Their point seem to be that the organizers should take heed from the recently concluded successful London conference where no political party was invited as that may expose and deepen the divide rather than help bring the opposition together as intended. The conference should have aimed to unite the diaspora and when all the disparate groups in the diaspora unite, then we can invite the opposition to join us, among other things.
