Happy Fathers Day to all the Fathers that put in the time to raise their children. As for my own father, I am extremely thankful for his extreme love and belief in me, even when I didn't deserve it. His form of discipline was like no other for he would sit down and we would always have a long conversation instead of hollering or yelling at me. If you could imagine being in a room with a mob boss knowing you messed up, well that is pretty much what it was like only he always ended the conversation with I love you. If I went out and partied too hard as a teenager, it was not a conversation, it was a 6am wakeup call to clean the garage and mow the lawn. Worse punishment ever when you are hung over but, really effective. He would also wait up for us kids to come home at curfew and hide out behind one of their cars and scare us as we were coming around the
corner to go into the house. Can you imagine, 1am in the morning and a 6'5" guy pops out of no where and makes this booming growl noise? He used to literally get my heart in A-Fib status and now in turn, my kids and I do it to each other when the perfect opportunity presents itself.
I still have my father with me today and I appreciate our continued conversations over coffee.
I know I picked this man to be my Dad because I picked the best one.
Happy Father's Day to all,
Chris
