Yes, very refreshing on the discourse. Certainly, your nomenclature is very fitting. I am sure Daffeh, Niomorkono and most of the Niuminkas won't have a problem :)

By chance, what is the meaning of Sendemungu? I will be referencing Dr. Donald Wright's book later to see what he might have positioned on this. He wrote exclusively on Niumi. I certainlt recommend his book for reading about Niumi. Though I am snail reader but enjoys flipping through his book to authenticate information.

Best,
Yero

Yero, in your name, and until Niamorkono and the Niuminkas come up with a name, I hereby rename Sendemungu Joyeh - Yero Joyeh!!

Haruna. Badou was enlightening I agree.

Haruna,

Since the Island is up for grab, the we too would like to compete in the process. I am yet to think of a name. :)  Humor aside, very enlightening about James Island. I, for one didn't know some of these details.

Best for Ramadan,
Yero

(: Sonny.

So the ultimate question when we consider renaming James Island is to give Niamorkono and his fellow Niuminkas name it for us. I suggest Niamorkono Joyeh!! until the Niuminkas give us a name. Brother Oko's singular quandary will now be rendered benign. There now remains the matter of profuse and asphyxiating lawlessness in Gambia for brother Oko to consider.

Haruna.

Well maybe that was the first time it had a name instead of just been referred to as 'Joyoto' which literally means 'The Island'.

Thanks
Daffeh

>> This America artist is a J.J.C meaning (Johnny just come lately). We have suggested a million items to use Kunta kinteh and a dancer to market Gambia & Gambian artists, thinkers & intellectuals. But the Glory of Gambia achievement goes to hail foreigners rather THAN creative Gambians. But maybe he paid some money to appear in the papers and paying to meet the President. The President does not know being DUPED. The Arts council is irresponsible and immature, needing artistic professionals to advance our course.
