What is going on with Pa Nderry? How are the two questions in the email amount the "facts" of this story? "Details are scanty" and he dare state that " It looks like the men were running the streets from the cell rooms."  What has D200,000 and cell phones in jail cells got to do with the President's bodyguard caught with cannabis?  Aren't he concerned about what all these mean for Lang and co? Isn't he concerned that these kinds of unsubstantiated "national security issues" may in fact be strengthening the hand against Lang and co?

If we must tell the story then we must tell it responsibly. As a wise guy once said, to who much is given, much is expected.

National Security Issues: Lang Tombong And Co Caught With D200,000 Dalasi Cash, With Mobile Phones, Is Joseph Wowo Detained? Rebellion In Gambia???

The jailed army chief of staff Lang Tombong Tamba and some other security detainees at the mile two central prisons were caught with over D200, 000 dalasi cash in their cells, including some smuggled contrabands. The prisoners were also caught with mobile phones. This is one of the biggest catch of smuggled cash and cell phones ever recorded at the mile two prison. The convicts are helping the NIA with their investigations. It looks like the men were running the streets from the cell rooms. So many heads will roll in coming days. Phone records and the source of the cash is being investigated.

The email we received goes like this: “Do you know that Lang Tombong and co were caught with D200, 000 and mobile phone in their cells? Do you also know that a soldier caught with cannabis is President Yaya Jammeh’s bodyguard?”  Details are scanty.  We will keep you posted with developments.
