We need some decency please.  Lets remember we all agree to disagree . One could express his believes to his counterpart without name calling . I've been a member since the advent of G-L  but lately the languages used on the forum are not what is expected of educated adults.  Nothing wrong with apologizing after any mistake but to stuck your grounds even after making a terrible wrong is not healthy for any good relation. All I'm saying is lets all tone down the rhetoric . Currently some of the languages exchange in the Bantaba are not appropriate .

Daffeh,

I wonder if common sense and decency does not dictate that you really reconsider your name callings in the person of Halifa? Do you ever feel any remorse or guilty of attacking someone who you simply disagree with but have so much hatred for as an individual; someone who has never responded to you despite years of assault on his person?

Do you really sit down and ask yourself what has this man done to you and your family? I can guarantee you the only thing that binds you with Halifa is the accidental history of being born Gambian?

I am sure many people are asking the same questions. Halifa is sure old enough to be your brother if not father. He has family and love ones like you do. Certainly he is not the only one in PDOIS.. Sidia Jatta, Uncle Sam Sarr, Swaibou Touray just to name a few. Why in the world is the assault and hate about????

Please, please many of us hear disagree with Halifa but the daily assault and name calling on someone who you probably never even shared a room with much more have conversation with is just appalling. Common law dictates that we treat others the way we want to be treated. I hope you really think about this the impact of being ignored despite years of assault...

Thanks

Demba

Rene, of course I am not comparing myself with Halifa. I am only doing the contrast. Halifa is a pugnacious narcissist. So I will not compare myself with such a person.

I now understand what you mean when you said Halifa has moved from his propaganda agenda. You mean he now realised that apart from his disciples like yourself, there are no fools around he can hoodwink with his untruthful statements, deceits and political glibs. I welcome that development. I hope he also realised that the UDP will not forgo the prudence and the legitimacy of a UDP led alliance just to accommodate his narcissism.

I know nothing about propaganda for I am about facts, facts, and facts, and I shall remain determined to continue on that path regardless of the corrosive effect on your Ayatollah's standing which I understand, is much to your annoyance and discomfort.

By the way, did you realised that Halifa have strained himself a lot in prosecuting his propaganda?? That was only because he has been throwing punches that were well above his political weight. No wonder he has changed course, according to yourself. Good for him.

Owens is getting frustrated. So gonna have to cut it short right here.

Thanks
Daffeh

Consider the word camp. Do you mean camp as to the political party you belong, or do you mean camp as to the intellectual class you belong.

Even the political party that you represent, I haven't read anything substantive that you have contributed to raise its political profile, neither is there anything substantivein terms of building the party's platform that can be attributed to you.So, saying that I do not think for myself is the classical case of the kettle calling the pot back.

You find these principlesin all disciplinesand in all areas of knowledge. You do not have to be knowledgable about a discipline, but once you understand the principles that govern that dicipline you shouldbe able to discourse in that dicipline. You can also conceptualize new ideas and formulate new thought processess. This is how people think for themselves.

And it is a tendency whereby politcians or their surrogatesspread ideas or information to either further a cause or damage a cause. Itcan be used negatively toassasinate someone's characteror consistently deride someone's noble ideas in order to make it ignoble.Conversely, propaganda can be used positively to refute a lie; to challenge a postulation that is false and deceiving; and to advance a cause that is noble and genuine. The latter is the propaganda stage that is the genesisof the Gambianpolitical struggle that started in the late eighties.
