The truth is, we tend to analyse Cassamance has a bastion of rebel heartland. However, serious security analyst reveal that, Cassamance is actually a cash cow for both the rebels and the Senegalese top military brass. The selling of timbers, illegal logging, control of business routes,, selling of coal, exorbitant swindling of travelling traders, cattle theft and many more scheming goes on in Cassamance, manipulated by both rebels and the army.
Hence, the Senegalese army don't want the war to end, they benefit financially and the Rebels too have a cause to fight for.
So for President Jammeh to pocket senior Senegalese security officials is quiet easy. Few years ago, a fierce Senegalese military officer, a native of Cassamance was assassinated by his peers, because his stance was strategic elimination of the rebel disturbance. He was killed by fellow officers clandestinely...According to reports, his battalion curbed the brutalities of the rebels significantly.
As for why Ndur frequent those regions, we have to be careful, because he is in a dangerous place. Divulging of sensitive information will make his tormentors harass him even worst. I will apply caution is saying much at present. What is clear now is that, not many are willing to sit down and carry on business as usual. We can be talking fancy in groups and organisations, but sadly, only real action will yield tangible result. This is a complex problem.  Thanks

Senegal don't care about our problems. A lot think that we can used Cassamance issues to win their support. That is just a silly joke. Senegal has a geo-political interest drive by nationalism when its comes the state of madness in the Gambia.

This is getting ugly. How can Senegal be allowing Gambia security operatives to enter their shores, abduct Gambians and take them away, without Senegal raising any objections...This is messy.
Senegalese police patrol their borders regularly, so how can this be happening?
