You got it Malanding. He is suffering from a severe case of political
ostrich syndrome. Bury his head in the thick sand of denial and
obscurantism, and pretend that he was back in the imaginary driving seat of
his illusory powertrain. Reminds me of Donkey Driver - a very foolish
character I used to depict in my Story of the Week column who had to
demonstrate that he owned his car by shutting his eyes tight and slamming
the gas pedal onto the floor. The inevitable result: he rammed straight
into a tree trunk and called his mother for help when it was too late. Talk
about cutting his nose to spite his already ugly face!
