Last week we asked how bad is politic and this week politicians answered our questions by demonstrating how disgusting it could be. The incident in New Jersey is just a tip of the iceberg . There is more to come from it .

Thanks Burama.

Am glad I can contribute as this uncharacteristically short enough for even me.
The difference between America and back home is that these people can br held to account and apologise.  Listening to BB Dabo's recent interview and his defense if criminalizing libel sprung to mind.  Not criminal libel in the normal sense but much like Yaya's seditious charges.
Indeed we have to hold each other in check without prejudice and favour at all times.
Thanks

Subject: [G_L] Politicians and Abuse of Power

He (Chris Christ), Governor of New Jersey supposedly used government apparatus/agents/employees to inconvenient his political foe. What did they do - close some lanes of an Inter-State Freeway/Bridge. They do not care how much they will hurt million others. Now he is apologizing as they always do.

The IRS supposedly denied political opponents of Obama Tax Exempt Status to limit their ability to raise funds. Again politician (or their agents) using government to advance their power. Obama claimed he's outraged but no material action as yet. Few resigned and others placed on administrative pending investigations - they've long returned to their desks.

Sounds familiar. This is America - not so much my concern. Join the flight to home turf.

How many such happenings both under Jawara and Yahya. Hope you pardon me not giving that laundry list.

Can we trust them? Isn't human nature that power corrupts?

For our struggles lets not be blindsided to give anyone a blanket check of power for what ever reason.

Lets demand and secure the institutions, laws, rules/regulations, policies and procedures and abuse of which has teeth to bite - fire, fine, jail, etc. what ever punishment is appropriate by such laws of the people.

If these can happen in America, where else wouldn't it happen?

My thoughts! Share yours!
