Indeed LJ, men always have the capacity to betray public trust, whilst the law is supreme. Interestingly, I read on facebook, our learned public administrator 'Mathew Jallow' being sarcastic with our editorial on CORDEG querying that, we are 'lecturing a political science professor on politics'...One wonders if going by such ridiculous assumption, we can question lawyers like Obama on human rights, the Tony Blair on mass murders, the Yaya Jammeh on security etc...

I know some of our folks are drunk with elitism and titles, but if we are not careful, the problem solvers will become the endemic tumour pretty soon, if we are not already. Even God's Prophets never assume perfection, hence the Divine laws to guide them. Simply because someone is a Prof, doesn't mean, they have attain celestial perfection, they still remain human in the crudes form, with feelings and needs and ambitions.

Let there be safeguards, because excitable friendship is a pathway to calamity and 'i never expect such will do this'...become the norm...Yahya Jammeh became a bigger betrayer to Gambians because we all fell for his 'soldiers with a difference mantra' and he was able to recruit even the 'very elect' the cream dela cream of the Gambian civil service, the top to middle public servants to do all his bidding's, now they are all shame faced...We are all capable of anything, so long as we have the confidence that, we can get away with it...

Thanks

Good editorial

You just summarised the founding principle of the USA, that is, "a country not of men, but of laws".
