This is the 21 century Burama....political fights are done in all shape and form. Am talking, engaging citizens, monitoring and exposing Jammeh's every illegal move..

The problem Burama is that you convinced yourself that you have not only a plan, but a better one than anybody... you are asking questions but have not moved an inch since you unveiled your bullet points. Despiye all the feedback you not modifying your plan or whay you believe. Talking about leverage does not you give you one..so let's ask you the questions..

How do you change the status quo in Banjul?
How do you plan to engage yahya who will neither respect no listen to you?

Where and how would you get your leverage after dismissing everything everybody has? Pls don't refer me to the bullet point. Seen them but see no better alternative?

So burama are you then saying since we don't have a plan to remove Yahya tomorrow, let's stop talking, stop searching for answers, forming org. And follow a leverage plan?

Pls answer the questions..

Thanks
Demba

I got you!

The problem - you are not fighting. You are talking in America.

You fault that Yahya would not listen but you convince yourself he will let someone win an election against him.

You're hoping some Gambians erupt into violence against him

You're hoping he die soon

In all these 3  only 1 is a plan and more important the advocates are mainly millions of miles away. Certainly Yahya will not listen to us now because there is no consequences for not doing so. We're too weak and not even working on right strategies. Yet you are convince he will let you win elections - good luck. And I seriously mean that.

So much gap exist where we are and where Yahya is........unfortunately no realistic practical plan to bridge that gap. Your conviction is not in doubt/question, what is troubling is what do we do with those convictions. Is not enough to fume in America and Europe. We have to have a deliberate action plan that takes us from point A to Z. Also remember that there are many citizens with an opposing conviction - Yahya is the best for our nation.

If you think amassing a political leverage to deal with year is rhetoric or Marshal Plan (which by the way worked) is wrong for Yahya...... Good luck with an agenda one side think they can do all the logistics while dictating what the other side should do at any next election.

I hope to live to next election to see how much opposition are reorganize, how much money they receive, how much will be dictated to them and what will be their margin of victory.

Burama, you misread me... I'm not conceding anything and will never to Yahya Jammeh. I am set on my believes no matter what Jammeh does I am going to continue to be in opposition to his mentality, style of governance and or policies. I think he is dishonest, power hungry and he cannot compete on a level playing field. Whether he becomes ECOWAS Chair or what have you my stance and my convictions against him are a set stone...

I will also endeavor to join any fight with you in fighting for injustice but I yet to buy into the idea of having a Marshall plan or negotiating with someone who neither respects us or have any interest in listening to us... I don't know how long this fight is going to be but am more optimistic than you in winning this fight against tyranny...

Have a great weekend..

You sound conceding ground to Yahya.

Oppressing the govern give dictators all the illegally amassed power - Hitler, Yahya, Assad, Saddam, etc. Will it last and how long? I don’t know - but thats exactly their source of power.

Under whose RADAR - certainly not ECOWAS who are considering him Chair. Ours doesn’t bother him much at this point  because we failed to garner the necessary political leverage to make it consequential to him. Lets work on achieving that………It wouldn’t serve our interest him becoming Head of UN Security Council. But that’s not outside of possibilities unless we present a credible alternative to our people and world at large.

Whatever we consider ECOWAS - our goal should be to get them on our side. Based on its members and how they came to power am not sure if they will entertain ideas of opposition of a member state but we can re-route through bigger organizations for political arm twisting.

This job will be done by our deliberate actions and not by someone else. This bigger task is what we are yet to be ready for. Partly why we are scrambling over soft agendas.

I don’t encourage the tone of your position in that post. We should be up to anything Yahya and in fact a step or 2 ahead if we are to win.

Burama,

Nothing surprises me about Jammeh...  But I will assure you oppressing your people will never make him more powerful. He can amass all the accolades but I guarantee you he is under the radar and is getting more and more insecure... He can be the secretary General of UN for all I care, we will continue to go after him... After all ECOWAS is a toothless bulldog... It consist of failed African leaders...

The fight continuous whether he becomes ECOWAS chair or Banjul major...

I told you so!

You were with the view he’s under some international pressure including ECOWAS. Birds of the same feather.

He organized a successful summit of African leaders years ago and now poise for another accolade amongst that largely criminal bunch.

Is he getting more powerful/influential and/or getting weaker?

A new ECOWAS Chair to be elected this Saturday. Sound bites coming from the ECOWAS Parliamentary Speaker visiting Banjul indicates that we may be in for the shock of our lives - Jammeh being elected as the next toothless ECOWAS Chair?

These dumb African leaders are capable of doing anything... See this article claiming that "Jammeh always acts within the boundaries of the Gambian Constitution"  Am so sick to my stomach!!!!

This would be the last blow...
