King Bamba and Burama thought we were going to set up an informational debate on this topic?
In my discussions within my small circle of friends non has yet to agree that Jawara was a dictator.
I can't wait for the facts and please don't direct me to ANY writings or definitions.
If Da King is busy maybe we can set something with Demba.
Can I also suggest that anyone that wants to participate should donate $50 to the radio station.  You know they have bills. Kejau you are excluded from the short list of participants.  I am scared to debate you. You debate too well.

That didn't answer my question  should we compare Jawara's to Yahya's.

Jawara's can't be an appropriate yardstick but what we were supposed to be - a democratic republic

Gambians need no other prove PPP government was corrupt - Alikali Commissiom alone  is enough an indictment.

Our love for PPP is understandable but that shouldn't cloud our judgement for truth otherwise no chance for our collective path forward

Burama

Ordinary citizens can't be required to provide such material evidence when they do not hold the records. Otherwise I/we can also ask you to prove that wasn't the case

The first republic, with all its short-comings and God Knows they were numerous, but what we had was a constitutional republic. People elected their representatives and there was a constitutions designed to limit the power of the majority. Clearly, it was far from the ideal, taking into consideration of the maturity of the population and necessary institutions to help in this evolution. Of course, seeing what we have now makes it very much appreciative the evolution of our republic of yester year.

Subject: [G_L] Should We Compare Jawara To Yahya?

Beyond establishing our preference for one or another how is this helpful to our larger problem?

We ought to measure Jawara to What we were supposed to be against what we came to be at 1994. But we also need to analysis what are the effects of that extended political monopoly has on what obtains in the 20 years of Yahya.

We ought to measure Yahya to what we are supposed to be against against what we are.

Our goal is and should not be return of Jawara's Gambia. That was bad! It should be about making A Functional Institutional Democratic Republic.

PPP/Jawara failed abysmally to provide us the promise of our founding and Yahya and his AFPRC has no clue what that is.

Compatriots we are supposed to be a republic. What else can I add?

Burama
