Guys,

I still think you can go ahead and discuss this topic... We should move it from the name calling and labeling the former government dictatorship to discussing how some of the policies that Burama think made Jawara "dictator" can be enhance and changed in a new Gambia? How difficult was it or is it to change those policies.. How can we continue to challenge the status quo and mobilize our people and give them hope that change can come to Gambia... The discussion can be swayed to a more substantive issues..

Thanks

Demba

You said I broke the gentlemen agreement by discussing the topic with another host. I apologized on the grounds that I didn't thought I was in a binding agreement that I couldn't talk elsewhere. Regardless I said sorry. Am sincere saying sorry!

I don't think this topic is exhaustive. This is not about faulting PPP and/or humiliating those who might be professionally or personally close to Jawara/PPP. This is about understanding our past in order to perfect the future. Denial and/or minimizing is a mistake. Comparison to Yahya is not helpful because both are not the yardstick.

I was astonished how some came dismissive as irrelevant. It still beg the larger question for me what are we fighting for. I have pursued this question at any opportunity and it appears we are disinterested and/or with a hidden  agenda. Both are not helpful.

To be honest my suspicion is some want us fight for return of Jawara's Gambia, hate of Yahya or want of our person choice to go to the helm. No of these are legitimate cause for me.

In addition I believed this is partly why we couldn't so far make appreciable gains on Yahya.

Anyway am ready to discuss any topic on Gambia. I'll do so by presenting facts where they are available and also opine my views.

Again I apologize for breaking away from your understanding of our agreement. I didn't meant to, I only have a different understanding.

Regards

Burama

King Bamba and Burama,  I think we have beaten this topic to death and Burama have already granted an interview to another radio station about this matter.  It has also been discussed heavily on social media.
I suggest we look for another good topic to discuss.
I doubt if there are any more relevant points to discuss about this topic.
Moving forward, Burama and I have agreed to not grant interviews on topics we agreed to debate with another host.  Hope you understand.

I would suggest you define the topic. Am participating to support my assertion that Jawara's was a dictator.

We ought to establish what's that word. Then discuss what Jawara did or did not.

What others opine is not definition. What others believe is no definition. What the popular/not populate sentiment are no definition. This is a fact base subject matter - meaning of dictator vs Jawara's rule.

I am suggesting these because people have used opinions, comparisons, etc. if we go down that road it will be a wild goose chase.

What does it mean - dictator
What Jawara did or not

Am open to discuss anything Gambia but let that be a known case.

Burama

King Bamba and Burama thought we were going to set up an informational debate on this topic?
In my discussions within my small circle of friends non has yet to agree that Jawara was a dictator.
I can't wait for the facts and please don't direct me to ANY writings or definitions.
If Da King is busy maybe we can set something with Demba.
Can I also suggest that anyone that wants to participate should donate $50 to the radio station.  You know they have bills. Kejau you are excluded from the short list of participants.  I am scared to debate you. You debate too well.

That didn't answer my question  should we compare Jawara's to Yahya's.

Jawara's can't be an appropriate yardstick but what we were supposed to be - a democratic republic

Gambians need no other prove PPP government was corrupt - Alikali Commissiom alone  is enough an indictment.

Our love for PPP is understandable but that shouldn't cloud our judgement for truth otherwise no chance for our collective path forward

Ordinary citizens can't be required to provide such material evidence when they do not hold the records. Otherwise I/we can also ask you to prove that wasn't the case

Of course, seeing what we have now makes it very much appreciative the evolution of our republic of yester year.
