All I asked is not too much to give that I will not cross the bridge endlessly waiting to get to the checkpoint to be abused and humiliated by camouflage angry gun trotting men searching and questioning intimidating and threatening and I know that is not right their might and power I decried. All I asked is not too much to give that I will not whisper in my bedroom which I dare not say aloud in the courtyard the fear that has crippled my heart by the ubiquitous and mean spirited informers listening and peeping reporting and accusing and I know that is not right many are those that have been tried. All I asked is not too much to give that I can walk down the lonely and deserted street I do not have to look over my shoulder. All I asked is not too much to give that I can quietly stand with a bullhorn at the crowded street corner I will tell sad stories of betrayal and deception.
