Well said,we can never justify their action, even from a historical stand point and even from a principle stand point, were one believe in the right of a nation,no matter how small,to self determination. Thanks again.

Samateh

You made good points! You're also right on those points in many ways.

However if the world made an error at one or another place that's no good justification of another error. The world especially England and America created Israel at the end of the war through the League of Nations (now UN) in an attempt to find a permanent home for the Jews. Lots of history involved but they didn't do a good job and the rights of Palestinians and Arabs in General were and continued to be violated. On the other hand Palestinians weren't able to help their cause very much for many reasons - not sure if I/we can blame them for the abilities.

South Africa was race based conflict with some degree of colonial mentality. Again your point well taken - Reagan and Thatcher especially supported that cause. The West In general supported it too while they were granting other part of Africa independent nationhood. Over time though they have come to the realization either willingly or forcibly that the past and status quo was bad and switch to the good side.

That said can we justify what Russia is doing after we moving more and more away from previous wars? I don't think so. I also don't think we should justify the actions because USA/UK did XYZ.

The same applied in Gambia. Many wrongs Yahya and his government are currently doing were also done by
Jawara and PPP maybe different degree/magnitude. Yet that's no justification. And that's a fight I supposed me and you are on.

To conclude the West has worst history than any continent but they've come afar for sure.

Mr Jammeh,

Up ,up with you,a great speech/write up. Just wondering about  one thing here  ,why  is it that  Africans who defended       freedom and Democracy  in Europe with their blood and tears against Hitler and especially the  liberation of France is never an issue in these type of events and i wonder if this is encouraging for Africans  ? To add to  your   list,  Isreal  is continuiously  changing    the "international boundaries "    of  a   nation    with the blessing and money of the very people who are today shouting against Russia and China for doing the same things, this is too bad.
Perhaps the only  differnce we have   on this  issue  is that the people  you are calling on to protect our freedom, the Margeret Thachers, the Ronald Regans are perhaps,in my books, the biggest fascists   history  has ever produce for our generation.Just think of the dirty works of Regan on the other side of the Americas or their support for the Apartheid regime of South Africa and their endless support in suppressing the freedom struggle of the Africans in Angola etc. God bless Africa. Thanks again.

But even then, the impression Hitler had was a different area. Regardless a great cause full of determined generation of men/women to protect and expand frontiers of freedom. They did and we owe it to them to pass on the bat to the next generation.

Russia is allowed to change International boundaries at will. China is harassing her neighbors over territory that were already internationally demarcated. Terror sprouting everywhere and our biggest strategy is appeasement. More disturbingly though people of free world are marching on strangulating free speech simply because they disagree with that view - so many anecdotal evidences in religion, social/cultural issues, politics and race. For instance in today's America people can be forced out of jobs and/or property for what they say.
