Now read this editorial purporting to be subtly clarifying Dr Saine's fears...or is it assume blinder. If this piece as the veritable editor is saying was written in May but sent to him now, if that doesn't sound fishy, I wonder what readers are taken for this days?

 

Secondly, if Dr Saine fears ethnic or tribal flares within Cordeg, his unholy silence was broken on Freedom radio airwaves, not in a neutral language (English) but in Wollof. Who fears tribal flares, hence, let the reader not be presume a fool.

Thirdly, Even Yahya Jammeh in his mad moments, chose to communicate in English, that being the neutral language of our country, albeit borrowed. Dr Saine cannot eat his cake and have it. Yes, he has played his part in the struggle for long, however, that is no defence to him giving all his ears to flawed personalities within Cordeg. He should desist from playing subliminal tribal card as his defence, it will not work, neither change the serious issues left unaddressed.

 

On another note, the marriage of convenience in work in progress between Cordeg and GCC is also highly monitored by Gambians. If we can open our heart's content against the dictator, then we have to follow principles which will serve as tangent examples for others to follow. GCC and Cordeg, will the marriage take place and who will gave way to who, and what will the overall effect be on the failings that blighted Cordeg. As pseudo interest groups emerge defending Cordeg, in the hope of jumping from GCC to Cordeg, we watch and hope that, the Gambia is not forgotten.

 

Dr Saine is a mild, likable scholar, however, he should not succumb to few inner circle opinion, such style of assuming position is dead, it will not work.
