What Do We Have In Common?

The answer - ‘The Gambia’

What that means- you, me and all else has an equitable equity - that’s ‘The Republic'

How can each of us manage our share of this un-dividable whole? That’s call democracy. In that we express our desires through electing of our representatives. It will be too chaotic/crowded for the estimated 1.8 million to take decision on everything at all times.

That’s it! We’re different on all else - village/town/city, tribes/ethnicity, religion, cultures/traditions, education, skin tone, eye color, height, weight, political ideology, spousal preference/no-preference, etc. That’s why we couldn’t agree on 1 candidate of the opposition camp for 20 years and counting.

Lets formulate ‘A Republicanism’ agenda - the purpose is to create that equitable environment where all can freely and informedly participate in deciding how they want their share manage. Call it creating level playing field…….. This is what will make things function accordingly. Today crying out what is in the constitution or not has little help in that its not functional to the extent preferred by the dictatorship. What we want can’t be until we change/over haul the environment within which it exists.

Certainly these concepts would need further breakdown and educating ourselves and other citizens.

The Gambia is all we share in common………There is no earthly reason why everyone should/will support a single candidate - it runs against human nature itself and as well democracy.

This is the debate we need to begin soon…………
