Benjamin Roberts is New Tourism and Culture Minister 
Benjamin Roberts has been appointed as Tourism Minister and Culture, replacing Fatou Mas Jobe Njie, her boss, with effect from the 08 September 2014, according to a press release from the office of the president, issued on 12 September 2014. Before his appointment, Benjamin Roberts was the director general of the Gambia tourism board, a post he held since October 2010. Benjamin Roberts before moving to the tourism ministry was a director of the business and exports development at the Gambia Investment and Exports Promotion Agency for about a year and 10 months and that was his first civil service appointment. He, like his predecessor was a senior manager at the Standard Charter Bank. Without any tourism related education or experience, Benjamin Roberts was working with the Standard Chartered Bank in various capacities with experience and education as an investment and risk management banker.  addRead MoreComment (0)Hits: 31
