Gambia-l, Below is a press release seeking assistance from all concern individuals particularly the citizens of Kaur on the list. Funds could be sent by Western Union or any other form of money transfer through any of the persons listed below. The situation is extremely bad and urgent action is needed. PEACE TOMBONG SAIDY KAUR DISASTER RELIEF FUND PRESS RELEASE For immediate release The KAUR DISASTER RELIEF FUND has been formed on Wednesday August 25th 1999 by the citizens of Kaur in response to the urgent need for assistance to the flood victims of Kaur (Kaur Janneh Kunda, Kaur Touray Kunda and Kaur Wharftown). The main objective of the Fund is to raise D50, 000 (fifty thousand Dalasis) by Wednesday September 1st 1999 to purchase urgently needed food, soap and other basic needs. All citizens of Kaur in living in the Greater Banjul Area are urged to donate a minimum of D25 (twenty-five Dalasis) each. We are appealing to all donor agencies, the private sector, Parastatals, individuals and all sympathisers and well wishers to assist in this fund raising drive and to help in avoiding a major catastrophe. Hundreds are homeless as a result of the flood and there is a serious shortage of food, drugs and clean water at Kaur. A Disaster Relief Committee has been formed and is composed of the following: 1. Citizens of Kaur will be soliciting funds and will be carrying a specially designed circular (coloured form) to be signed by any one who donates. Donors could also take their donations to TIMBUKTU BOOKSTORE on Kairaba Avenue (Opposite Sabena Office), King Fahad Travel, Hagan Street, Banjul; Diana's Fast Food at Serre Kunda near the Bakoteh Shell (395-400) and Capital Insurance, Aglesea, Banjul.
