FELLOW AFRIKANS, I think the review of the biography of Nkrumah would now help shed some light on the life and the circumstances of Nkrumah, and give us a better understanding of how it was like for him and Afrika. It will help enlighten those also who think Nkrumah is all about dictatorship and nothing else. I have a slight disagreement with June Milne about socialism and why Nkrumah pursued that system of governance. I am really surprised that with all those years working with Nkrumah she could not distinguish socialism from the Soviet Union! Even as an intellectual I thought she should have noticed that, especially being a White she should have studied their systems and ways. Anyway I will write an article soon to show that there is nothing like Afrikan socialism, that socialism does not belong to the Soviet Union, that it was not invented by Karl Marx, and even that Marx was not a full fledge socialist, that socialism is not alien to Afrika, in fact I will show that if Socialism has to belong anywhere then it is to Afrika it should belong. In other words I will show that socialism is a universal concept. madi ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe/subscribe or view archives of postings, go to the Gambia-L Web interface at: http://maelstrom.stjohns.edu/archives/gambia-l.html ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
