Glad to read that a gentle man in the name of Yusupha Jow offered himself to defend the Nkrumah's personality. I am one of those that shared the same feeling. I have always questioned, what made Nkrumah a dictator, considering the political atmosphere in Ghana and Africa during his time. It would be relevant to ask this : Most a government of necessitate be too strong for the liberation of its people or too weak for the maintenance of its own existence? I think any government in the world is confronted with this situation where the right merger is difficult to find. If Nkrumah's is a dictator, how about president Nixon in whose time Amreica went into war with Vietman without the Constitutional approval. It was in the time of the same Nixon when the Contelpro (Counter Intelligence Programme) was set up by the State to track down all the black organisations who were only demanding their just right as enshrined in the federal constitution. Infact before 1970, which American president had lived democratically to recognise the status of the black people? But no mention is made of their names when it comes to the worst dictators in the world. To be continued....
