ANNOUNCING A NEW BOOK SERIES ON HUMAN EMOTIONS

Sponsored by University of California Press, Berkeley

Series Editors:

Aaron Ben-Ze'ev, Ph.d
and
Moshe Zeidner, Ph.d

Center for the Interdisciplinary Research on Emotions
University of Haifa, Mt. Carmel 31905, Israel

Scope and Orientation of Series

The series will publish books on specific emotions as well as key
substantive issues in the area of emotion research. Scientific
research on emotions has significantly increased over the past decade.
Although the
bulk of recent research has been psychological in orientation, there
also has been a growing interest in the study of emotions in other
disciplines as well, such as: physiology and neuroscience, philosophy,
anthropology,
sociology, communications, literature, linguistics, and history.
Despite the recent recognition of the importance of a multi-disciplinary
and multi-modal and integrative approach to human emotions, books
published in various areas of emotions have been uni-disciplinary in
nature. In contradistinction, the unique feature of the proposed series
is that it is designed to present an interdisciplinary perspective on
specific emotions
and central issues in the study of emotions. It will describe the
results of conceptual and empirical studies in a way that both the
general audience and specialists in the areas of human behavior and
allied disciplines will find of interest. The book series will consist
of authored manuscripts rather than edited volumes.
