I had a pancreas transplant 3 years ago and then was diagnosed with Celiacs
in March of this year. I thought my gastroparesis had come back with a
vengeance. I have been tolerating gluten for the last 6 weeks so I question
the diagnosis as the blood test was negative. I had a really difficult time
with the diet after being able to eat whatever I wanted since my transplant.
After being a diabetic for 35 years, I had no dietary restrictions and the
celiac diet is worse that the diabetic diet. EVERYTHING has gluten in it!

I just can't imagine how difficult it must be for those who take insulin too,
but, if my diagnosis is correct, I could be in the same boat should my
transplant eventually fail.

Lori
