I've tried natural progesterone and melantonin. I didn't notice that
my thyroid symptoms were any better or worse. I still take
melantonin most nights, but have stopped the progesterone. As for
the coconut oil, I began reading many of the articles about coconut's
benefits for health, especially thyroid. I have been using about 2
tablespoons per day. I haven't yet noticed any major effect, but
like you I do get warm for a while after taking it. I like the
flavor though and the fact that heat doesn't seem to turn it into a
bad fat, like some others. I follow a controlled carbohydrate diet.
This type of fat doesn't worry me too much.
I'm not a good T3 converter and suspect that I have some resistance
also, so I take Selenium as well (helps the conversion). I take 4
gr. Armour per day and 10mg Hydrocortone. I've been doing fairly
well on this regimen, although lately I've been feeling a small
increase in Armour might be good -- a few symptoms have crept back.
