Greetings to All,
I have a concern that involves hypothyroidism and soy.
Because I am a vegetarian, (not a vegan) I do not eat red meat, and rarely eat chicken or fish. (I do take omega 3 fish oil capsules) For a time I was eating soy burgers, (Boca) and soy 'ground meat' and 'chicken' patties. I recently discovered that soy can inhibit thyroid medication. Now I am afraid to ingest any more soy, and must find other options for meeting protein requirements. (beans, I read, can also inhibit thyroid medication)
Does anyone have this concern and if so, what do you suggest?
Thank you.
Paulette Weaver
