Yes, this can happen, Dionne. Were you tested for thyroid antibodies? It
is not unusual to be diagnosed as hyperthyroid, but actually have
Hashimoto's Thyroiditis (autoimmune hypothyroid disorder). Look into
Hashimoto's and you'll find this is quite common. Also check into other
treatment options. Sometimes T4 only does not do the trick, and can make
you feel worse.
