Hello:

I am writing to ask for letters of support for obtaining a
grant to produce a printer capable of producing Raised Line Graphic
images. Those of you who attended the National Federation of the
Blind convention may recall that a resolution was passed asking the
federal government to assist in further research in this area.
Many convention attendees had the opportunity to examine a sample
of the output of a Tektronix Inc. Phaser [...]42_13Aug199716:49:[log in to unmask] 9708B 90 44 28_Re: dos telnet under windows10_Dave [log in to unmask], 13 Aug 1997 21:00:24 -0400514_ISO-8859-1 Be careful in regards to Dos-based telnet applications. Often, since Dos
does not in and of itself contain a NOS (network operating system), you can
pay the price of having several uncooperative drivers loaded into memory at
the same time. Your Novell telnet app works fine, so long as you don't get
"unable to load character set" errors. My expertise is not in Novell, as I
spend a lot more time in Win95 and NT. Your network card sounds like one
of the best, however. [...]44_13Aug199721:00:[log in to unmask] 9708B 135 38 28_Re: dos telnet under windows12_Aaron [log in to unmask], 14 Aug 1997 10:37:37 +1000575_us-ascii On Wed, Aug 13, 1997 at 07:39:10PM -0400, Richard Caloggero wrote:

When I was out at C-SUN last year, Blazie was
showing a printer that produced raised tactile print. We even brought back a few tactile
maps of the US. Are you speaking of something different. This printer laid down a rubbery
line.

The printer shown at CSUN was a Tektronix Phaser 600. It does indeed
produce raised lime graphics. This is a large machine that can print on
paper 36 inches wide. The printer is about the size of a small upright
piano. The only negative comments I received about the Phaser 600 are
that some people find the lines too low. Other than that just about
everyone I met loved the machine. The Phaser 600 hasX²ùje
