Susanna,

I would be most happy to help out. My daughter was diagnosed with CD
about a year ago and diabetes 5 years ago. She is now 13, we have been
through some really tough times.  Let me say one thing about this list;
it is not really helpful to kids with diabetes and CD, it primarily is
addressed to those with Type II diabetes. Additionally it is tied up
with a few people who think they know everything about each subject. As
I am sure you will agree, kids cause a parent to throw out the rule
book. Our daughter has very brittle diabetes (critical) the CD issue
has complicated things additionally. If you can tell me what kind of
food your daughter likes and what you are in the habit of fixing her, I
will go through some of my recipes and post them.

A note, I have posted recipes on the list before and have been told that
it's ok for a diabetic child to have a sugar because of CD. I cannot
disagree with these people strongly enough. The diabetes must be
managed or the child won't live long enough to worry about the CD. The
"old folks" on the list don't have a clue about kids. I apologize if I
sound bitter, but I am extremely frustrated by people telling me what is
"right" for my daughter when we have just finally had her out of the
hospital for 2 years (the first 2 years after she was diagnosed with
diabetes, she was in the hospital 15 times for a total of 180 days).
Those know-it-alls on the list don't know what a difficult child is.
