Hi all..its nice to see some action again on this listing..Jay (my husband) has had diabetes for 27 years and dx with celiac in 1999. He started the pump in November and I just wanted to update those of you who were SO SUPPORTIVE when I was trying to get him to agree to try it..... we are doing very well (see you can teach an old dog new tricks!!). He likes the convenience, but he's still having many high readings (very few lows though). How long did it take to get better readings? We thought by now it would be better...the educator and md said to be patient while they work out the basal and bolus numbers but I do not want him to get frustrated (it was such a battle convincing him to try the pump)

To all who wrote about sticking to the diet, etc. it is hard...but if you have any cooking skills you can make some good stuff...I make Jay peanut butter cookies, brownies and muffins (GF and low sugar). Also call the 800#'s on labels. Most companies are very helpful and are able to tell you if their products contain any gluten....I think the most difficult part is that it gets boring because choices are limited but we do the best we all can..I pray each morning for assistance and it always comes...Good luck
Sandy/NJ
